Melissa Ricci, MS, CCC-SLP

Melissa is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with nearly 20 years of experience in the dynamic field of communication therapy. She has collaborated with families and clients ranging in age from birth to 22 years, across diverse settings, including Early Intervention (EI), public schools, and private practice. Melissa possesses specialized expertise in working with individuals who have complex communication needs.

Melissa collaborates closely with families to set meaningful and achievable goals. Her philosophy is that communication therapy should build on what is already working and what clients and families value in their daily interactions at home and in the community. As a creative problem solver, she tailors strategies for each child's unique needs, continually asking what can be tried differently, what is working, and how to generalize skills.

As a mother of two girls with learning differences and a member of her local Special Education Advisory Council (SEPAC) Board, Melissa has experienced the frustrations of dealing with our fragmented medical and educational systems. Her lived experience fueled her decision to co-found Access Ability Therapies where communication therapy is provided within the context of child advocacy, caregiver coaching, and vital resources for navigating state, medical, and educational systems.
